About me
Hi, i’m Kat.
I’m a qualified Business Psychologist and certified Coach, who spent 15 years working at the cutting edge of people, organisational development, culture & leadership in tech companies. During that time I led teams and partnered with founders and executives on the scaleup journey, including through successful company exit.
I'm passionate about helping leaders to get out of their way and thrive amidst chaos, without burning out.
Disconnected and burnt out
To the outside world I had a successful career that I excelled at, provided financial security and meaning; a loving husband who I ‘owned’ a canal-front apartment in London with; traveled and explored the world often.
However, I was frazzled, overwhelmed, empty and lonely. It felt like if I stopped, I would fall apart, and I wasn’t sure if I could get back up.
I had everything I wanted, that I had worked incredibly hard to get, so why did it feel so heavy?
My body gave me the answer (I now know) I needed to hear. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition in 2020, a condition that if I didn’t start making changes to my life, would significantly impact my ability to live.
Since then, I have been on a journey figuring out my sh*t. To understand my needs and build a new routine, habits and experiences that seek to meet them; to cultivate a more reflective, positive mindset; to learn from the past and create new coping strategies; to foster a more supportive social circle.
To start dreaming what my life could truly be like if I allowed myself to thrive - to grow, operate in alignment with my values, feel energised, to be successful on my own terms and feel really good about it.
Reconnecting with little Kat
Much of the work I have done over the past four years, has been to reconnect with who I was as a child.
As a child I was playful, incredibly curious, full of boisterous energy, courageous and unequivocally myself - like my star sign (Taurus), I was ‘a bull in a china shop’ (tell me you had ADHD as a child, without telling me).
I channeled all of that superpower into artistic roller skating, where I competed on the National and International stage, being the best in the UK, in my category by the age of 12.
Alongside this, I grew up in a single-parent household, experienced homelessness asa child and was painfully aware of the sacrifices we had to make around basic needs, for me to succeed at the thing I loved.
Everything I experienced early in life, the determination and grit I wielded, catapulted me out of a council block and into the board room.
However, sometimes our strengths can become our biggest derailers, and suddenly what made you great doesn’t seem to work or feel good anymore.
It was this journey, of reconnecting with my true essence - the curious, courageous, playful, unequivocal part of my self - that helped me to start dreaming of a life where I could truly thrive again, just like little Kat.
